    CCDA Philly

    Monday, October 2nd, 2006

So our CCDA Philly blog didn’t go off as planned. The Marriott wanted to charge the conference $7,000 (!!!) to establish a WiFi connection, so internet access was a problem. Amazingly, Techmission got around the hotel’s exorbitant costs to establish a cyber cafe by working off Andrew Sears’ cell phone. (His cell phone!) But WiFi [...]

    Off to CCDA

    Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

In Philly, tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be blogging. I will, as part of Rudy’s “Onofficial CCDA Blog.” I’ll publish CCDA related posts there, with links from this site, and personal and other posts here through Saturday.

    CCDA blogging

    Sunday, December 11th, 2005

One of the highlights of the CCDA conference last month was pinch hitting for Rudy to co-present the City Blogging workshop with Neil Cox. Neil’s a blog machine while I’m still a relative newbie, so it made for a fun presentation. Neil just posted a question from Linda Dyer, one of the workshop participants, and [...]

    CCDA Reflections

    Monday, November 21st, 2005

What a wonderful weekend. Something special happens when 2,200 people gather who love God by loving people (com)passionately. Some highlights for me: Jim Wallis‘ invitation to get arrested for praying for poor people and against systemic poverty (more later). Ray Bakke’s Gospel according to Iraq and Iran (more later). Boarding with and co-presenting a “Next [...]

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”

    Monday, November 21st, 2005

And other great reflections from CCDA, by: Rudy Carrasco, 1, 2, 3 — “There is race fatigue in this country. What is usually unspoken is that it now appears that African-Americans, Latinos, Asian-Americans and others also have responsibility when it comes to racism, and no one is talking about this. ” Neil Cox 1, 2, [...]

Neil Cox, my co-presenter of the City Blogging workshop at CCDA, has a great article with 50 reasons (and dozens of links) to blog. Off to Indy

    Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

Tomorrow morning, for the CCDA conference. It’s officially my first one (although I did crash part of the conference in New York back in 2000; that’s where I met Rudy). I’m participating in a panel and another “emerging leader” conversation. (There’s that term again.) While I’m not sure exactly what that means or what the [...]
