The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL - the Brains who design NASA's rocketships) Summer High School Internship Program (SpaceSHIP) is designed for high school students who have demonstrated a strong interest in and aptitude for Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM).

Eligibility Requirements:
€ Students must be U.S. citizens.
€ All participants must be at least 16 years old at the time of participation (June 25 to August 3, 2007).
€ Students must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
€ With the exception of the letters of reference, this application must be completed by the student, and represent the student’s own work.
€ All high school students must live within 50 miles of JPL’s Oak Grove facility (in Pasadena, California)
€ All applicants must provide evidence of a 3.0 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale).
€ Student application must provide evidence of interest in and aptitude for science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics.
€ Students must provide their own transportation to and from JPL.
Program Duration:
€ 6 weeks, including a 1-day training/orientation
€ June 25 - August 3, 2007
€ 8:30am – 4:30pm , Monday through Friday
Stipend:
€ $2000 per internship (taxable)
Submission Deadline:
€ The application must be postmarked no later than March 9, 2007. Students will be notified 4-6 weeks
after deadline.
Location of Internship:
€ All internship activities take place at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California unless
otherwise specified. If there will be an off-site field trip, interns and their parents/guardians will be
notified in advance.
