Please Pray: Healing for Kristi
By Jeremy | February 9, 2010
One month ago tonight, I posted a prayer request for my cousin Kristi‘s effort to obtain SSI benefits after being unjustly denied them for years.
Tonight we covet your prayers once again. Kristi met yesterday with a social worker to expedite her SSI application, but not for the right reasons. (A supplemental SSI hearing following January’s hearing had been scheduled for March 10.) After months of blood work trending in the wrong direction, the doctor told Kristi yesterday that she would have to be placed on dialysis again in anticipation of a fifth kidney transplant.
Please pray for a miracle, and for peace to fill Kristi’s heart as she weathers yet another physical storm.
For more on Kristi’s miraculous fight for life for the last 31 years, read her appeal for justice in full here.
Why do I rehearse this medical history? It’s not to give another sob story, but rather to express how much I value life, and have fought to live.
Every day I wake up energized by another opportunity to breathe freely and love others well because of the scores of times over thirty years I slipped into unconsciousness or went to sleep uncertain whether I would wake up again.
