    They fought the good fight

    By Jeremy | December 29, 2007

But the Giants were outclassed by arguably the greatest team in NFL history. Still, for one night at least, Eli Manning played up to the hype of the #1 draft pick, and the team played with heart. Props to Tom Brady (50 TD passes), Randy Moss (23 TD receptions), and, yes, even Spy Gate Bill Belichick (16-0) for handling the pressure of a perfect regular season and the controversy following Week 1 with steely determination. As much as I loathe saying this, it's good to be a Boston sports fan right now: The Sawx (2007 MLB champs). The Celts (best record in the NBA through 1/3 of the season). And most impressive of all, the 16-0 Pats.

+ It's been a bad month for Yankee fans. First, "The Mitchell Report," and now, when we hoped our stars could fall no further, "The King," 1996 World Series hero Jim Leyritz kills a woman in a post-birthday bash DUI.

Manning for some reason, on three plays on the last drivem used up the entire play clock and acted as if he only needed one score, when he needed two!

Jeremy how could you be a Patriots fan??????????????????????
My faith in you is shattered and respect for you no more! :-)

P, Notwithstanding my fawning Pats post, I still hate all teams Boston-related, especially the perfect Pats. I’m looking forward to a Giants Super Bowl rematch, with imperfection blemished permanently on Belichick, Brady, and all the rest.

haha. Yeah, I hate the Pats. I can’t put any effort to giving them any credit even if they did win 16 games in a row. I hope they lose to the Jags and it adds historic irony to their “perfect” season. Do I wish Buffalo or any of my other favorites were “that good?” No, we don’t want bandwagoners liek the Pats have. It does make me feel a bit sorry for the longstanding Pats fans who have had to put up with the popularity and the scorn of the “spygate scandal.” (it is odd that each of those Super Bowls were only won by a fieldgoal – and I’d bet by the last drive they would have had enough defensive signals learned to be able to capitalize on it and get their kicker close enough to make it interesting)

But losing a big game does give you the fire to make you want to keep winning. Just like this year’s Buckeyes!

      Go Bucks, beat LSU!
