NY Faith & Justice Stand Up Event

map it Last year 23.5 million people around the world stood up against poverty and set a Guinness World Record of people taking action against poverty. This year, the UN Millennium Campaign and its partner, the Global Call to Action Against Poverty, will attempt to break this record. NY Faith and Justice is partnering with the UN Millennium Campaign to organize this Stand Up Against Poverty action in New York City because we affirm Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s reminder: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.†We believe the crush of poverty anywhere is a threat to God’s peace everywhere. Not sure if you know but the results are in! Over 38.8 million people, in 110 countries have broken the Guinness World Record – set last year at 23.5 million – for the largest number of people to “STAND UP AGAINST POVERTY†in 24 hours.
