    Adopt-a-School comes full circle

    By Jeremy | September 14, 2007

On Wednesday, Generation Xcel and Abounding Grace celebrated a milestone in their relationship with PS/MS 34, the public school across the street from Xcel that both organizations have "adopted." The school invited them to hold the first middle school assembly in over two years to introduce the murals they painted in the schoolyard this summer. Four of the artists and two former students shared about the power of creativity and individuality as we pursue our dreams.
Pictured: artists NYC Lase, Duro, Lorena Barrezueta, and Kekoa; former students Eden Martinez and Eric Velez; Jannie Wolffe from Generation Xcel; Pastors Arlene Del Rio from Abounding Grace; school administrators including Principal Joyce Harte, Guidance Counselor Naresh Jacobs, Asst. Principal Rosemarie Gonzalez, and Dean Jonathan Del Rio; and yours truly. More pics from the assembly here, and the mural pics here.
