The Finalists
+ First: "Living Hope Community Community Centre," from Fish Hoek Baptist Church, Capetown, South Africa; Pastor John Thomas; because they have become "Dealers in Hope" through building a health center that employs 150 in addressing the pandemic holistically among children who "trade their virginity [and health] for a sit-down meal at McDonald's." + Runner-up: "UZIMA" (Swahili for wholeness), from Rockland Community Church, Golden CO; Pastor Ken Williams; because they are "unusually capable of listening to their partners" in Tanzania. + Runner-up: "Save Africa's Children," from West Los Angeles COGIC; Pastor Bishop Charles Blake; because they have recruited over 1,200 churches and raised $12 million to provide care to 100,000 AIDS orphans so far.
