Judah learned the F-word today at the park. He forgot it briefly this evening, and asked if "firth" is the bad word. When Diana and I said yes, he made us promise and then reminded us: "a promise is words that bind us to do or not to do something."
Words that bind us... He asked us again if firth was correct. "No, but don't worry about it," we replied. Undeterred, he thought about it some more and spelled out the real F-word. "Yes, that's the word," I answered, "and we think you're smart enough not to say it."
"I am smart enough not to say it. But what if I had asked you if f^@* is a real word?"
I'm not sure I've ever heard any word sound as ugly as that one sounded coming from my little guy's mouth.

ah, memories…
Dahlia and I sent our 2 first sons to a church school for pre-k and realized within the first week that our choices for sanitized developmental spaces would always suffer weaknesses.
I think at that point our decision to include our sons in public school firmed my resolve to be on-campus and last Saturday we graduated the last High School Senior… time flies.
It’s all about the investment we make early – and often. Judah is a great kid and will do well under the wings of a loving family and a Gracious Heavenly Father. Press On Pilgrim!!

A few years ago, K asked me very innocently, ‘what is a [term for male organ]?’… yikes…..
But alas, our kids are reaching through the darkness…

This is and old post…at least I’m not the only one. Ive had to enforce vocabulary 3x. I have three boys, Uriah 10, Elias 9, and Malachi 4. Malachi recently heard that word from a former friend who was having a hard day at work. i was very grieved that he came home saying the “F” word. I am reminded of Jesus’ words about offences and causing the little ones to stumble.
