The
Rudy Giuliani moderated debate with NYCHA chairman Ruben Franco was the decisive moment in a protracted struggle for justice when
Generation Xcel was wrongfully evicted from its space in the Jacob Riis Houses in September 1997. The news media chronicled the story. Again thanks to Rick Edrich and
Spot Creative, we're finally able to share the videos online.
In other multimedia news, I finally posted the
"Mooks, Midriffs..." audio here.

You know, we worked hard to establish Generation Xcel. We as co-founders put our ideas, our strengths and our love into this place and losing it was so hard. I remember that I was the first person on the scene to witness the disrespect. I remember J, getting up early because of all the work we were going to be doing for the summer week and racing to the center to get started on my bike and witnessed the doors being lock with no explaination. I know after telling everyone what had happen it was appearl that we were getting into a dog fight but it was great. These moments are the things that pillar our character.
Without a doubt it was awsome to go through.
