    Hats Off

    By Jeremy | September 19, 2006

To Yankee Great and current Mets Manager Willie Randolph for leading the Mets to their first NL East Penant since Reagan's Presidency. To Red Sox Castaway Nomaaaaaaaah for his 10th inning heroics on behalf of the Dodgers. To my friends in LA, whose Dodgers finally gave them something worth cheering, something which happens to be one of the great comebacks of all time in a game that reclaimed first place. To Del Rio, Jack Del Rio, for leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 9-0 shutout win over the defending Super Bowl champs on Monday Night Football. This is the second week in a row that the Jags have made opposing coaches second-guess the play of great quarterbacks.rugby league accringtonringtone 6015i nokia free verizonadam harrington basketballgirls 21st century ringtoneringtone 2waywireless ringtones cingular absolutely free countrylogo free 3595 ringtone nokiasplit a second cingular ringtone Map

OK – so I’m a Yankee fan – been once sine I was a child. I have true Yankee pedigree and history. No doubt there. BUT – I live in Nor Cal and when I came here in 1995 I had to adopt a national league team, the Giants, dem bumbs. If the Giants and Yankee’s were in the Series, I’d have to go with the Yanks… See – that’s loyalty.

However – Pac Bell / SBC / ATT / BALCO Park is a GREAT place to see baseball… really – it’s right on the Bay… I’ve been to Yankee Stadium – I LOVE Yankee Stadium – but where the Giants play… Man… They have a mean ‘Cha Cha Bowl’ in the outfield stands, and you can’t beat the garlic fries.

Saying that – I’ve grown to HATE the Dodgers. I have a serious dislike for Dodger fans, Dodger blue, Dodger Dogs and anything in general from Dodger Land (LA). LA is an armpit… really (sorry Rudy, I luv PEOPLE in LA, the town is a dump..) It’s not as intense as my disdain the Red Sox, but close.

So – to recap – here’s my order of baseball preference:
      1) Yankees
      2) Anybody who is playing against the Red Sox
      3) Giants
      4) Anybody who is playing against the Dodgers.

How appropiate the Dodgers get Nomar…. But, heck, I wish the Giants would have picked him up;)

John, generally I’m with you on the anti-Dodgers train. I greatly enjoyed razzing the Mezas and friends at Living Hope about their inneptitude against the Padres all year. But I gotta give it to them about last night’s game. What a thrilling way to reclaim 1st place.

That said, LA’s going down in the Playoffs. One way or the other, New York will see to that!

Last nights game was truly amazing! Hats off to the boys in blue for the comeback that will go down as one of the greatest in history. Four straight homeruns?….two of which came off Hoffman, arguably one of the top two closers the game has seen over the last 7 years…It’s been over 40 year since major league baseball has witnessed anything like that! And just to set the record straight, Nooomaaah is actually from LA..born and raised in East Los. In addition to that, big props to my man Jack Del Rio (USC alum) for shutting down the Champs last night. Hhhhmmmm….are you starting to see the common denominator here? LA is usually connected to all great happenings in one way or another! And to my new friend John from NO Cal….how many world championships to the Giants have? And if you think that the Dodger – Giant rivarly is grand, waite till things heat up between the two cities to see who will win the rights to host the Olympic games in 2012. Currently the 3 finalists from North america are LA, SF and Chi-town. I gaurantee LA will win the bid. Why, cuz its a first class city through and through! Well enough of my shameless plugs for the greatest city in world!

Brian, you’re welcome to trash talk here any day. The more smack you spew, the more fun it’ll be when LaLa gets trounced, one way or another, by New York in October.

Well boys – let’s see- Nor Cal has Napa Valley, the San Fran Bay Bridge, the great cities of San Fran, Oakland and San Jo, Yosemite – heck we’ll even throw in Lake Tahoe… LA has smog, congestion, no football team… hmmmm ;) Maybe fate has delt LA a kiss by letting the dodgers have a ring or two…

However – I’m glad LA has good folks like Brian there…
