... after church this afternoon. What a great surprise, courtesy of Tony Requejo and his family. They beat the Braves, 4-3; had the Marlins played any other team besides the Braves or the Giants, I would have rooted against them. But today, it was fun seeing them spank Atlanta. Thanks also to Ron and his wife for hosting me graciously last night, and taking me out for sushi -- a fool-proof way to my heart.
Had a wonderful time fellowshipping at
The Vine this morning. As my youth pastor from ages 12-15,
Pastor John Wagner played a vital role shaping who I've become in ministry. He saw something in me as a boy and helped nurture it by providing opportunities for leadership at a young age, including the first opportunity to preach a full sermon at only 13. One summer, he even convinced me to participate in a 5:30 am leadership class where he taught from 2 Timothy on faithfulness. When I became a youth pastor, our leadership class was called the Timothy Project and came from the very same passages (although I did away with the ungodly morning start-time).
What a joy to reconnect after all these years. Thanks, Pastor John, for another wonderful opportunity.

what a small world man. I heard of him from the “Christ the Rock” days. I would have never ever ever thought he had something to do with you, the LES, NY.
