Hacked RSS Feed? Techie friends, please help solve the mystery
By Jeremy | June 29, 2009
To all my techie friends, help me solve a mystery. Please.
It appears my RSS feed has been hacked, and I have no idea how to respond. I received the following email and screenshot from a friend this weekend.
It looks like you have some SPAM on your RSS feeds. I noticed it on my Google Reader page. I figured your blog got spammed, but when I clicked through to your blog, everything was ok. I’ve never seen this before, so I don’t have any idea what’s going on, but I copied part of the screen for you to see. …
Have you seen this before? Any tips on how to safeguard against RSS spam hijacking in the future?

Found some answers to wordpress spam at –

Apparently there is some kind of spam attack on both 2.7.0 and 2.7.1 installations of WordPress.
also check “RSS feed shows SPAM text instead of post excerpt” http://wordpress.org/support/topic/281912 for info on fix.
From looking at a few threads, this spam thing can be somewhat elusive. You may need to do extensive trouble-shooting via search results from WP support forum at
